EDUCATION THAT TRANSCENDS
At GECELCA we believe that by transforming lives through education, we are a source of development and progress for the country. For this reason, our main strategy is focused on improving the educational quality of children and young people in our areas of influence by strengthening the skills and knowledge of those who aspire to access technical, higher and comprehensive education for students, parents and teachers.
With E for Excellence
We contribute to the educational training of young people in our region. We lead activities aimed at high school graduates, preparing them for the Saber Tests and their entrance to university. Likewise, we contribute to complementary learning through technical and technological courses in alliance with SENA.
We recognize the merit of excellence. This is why we annually award a full scholarship to talented young people from the Caribbean Region, for the Electrical or Mechanical Engineering faculties of the Universidad del Norte, in Barranquilla. We cover the cost of tuition throughout the course, as well as books, supplies, accommodation, food, transportation, and all levels of English at the same institution.
TO DATE WE HAVE:
4 beneficiaries graduated in Electrical Engineering and 2 in Mechanical Engineering.

MINING SCHOOL
In partnership with SENA, we created the second Mining School in the country, and the first in the Caribbean Region. Young people have been trained in heavy machinery. The training is in-person and includes virtual simulators and real machinesfor on-site practice, which guarantees a more efficient process.
EDUCATE YOURSELF
We strengthen the values training of students, teachers and parents of educational institutions in the company’s area of influence through activities focused on corporate values.

For GECELCA, transforming possibilities into opportunities by leading initiatives that lead to the sustainable development of the region is building the future. Therefore, from our Entrepreneurship that Transforms we promote productive projects that improve the quality of life of communities and strengthen their capacity for self-management and generation of progress.
In La Guajira, we support artisanal fishing, agriculture, Wayuu backpack making, and bakery projects. In Córdoba, we promote agricultural, agro-industrial, and recycling ventures. All of this through training, psychosocial support, and the delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies for productive units.

Our energy is transformed into comprehensive well-being for our communities!
Through different projects we lead actions that contribute to the health, healthy coexistence and constant training of the inhabitants of our areas of influence.
We know that if you have health, you have everything. That is why, from the WELLNESS PROJECT, in alliance with local hospitals and municipal secretaries, we develop health brigades with specialists, deworming and oral health days and we contribute to the provision of hospital supplies and equipment for the improvement of health services.
With the CONNECT PROJECT, we create spaces for integration and the use of free time through strategies that strengthen the cognitive processes of children, young people and older adults.
Also, through the CONVIVE program, we educate communities through training and activities that contribute to the culture of caring for the environment.
Together WE ARE MORE+! PROJECT
We develop actions that contribute to the comprehensive training of communities, offering complementary courses, supporting government initiatives and strengthening the location conditions of the company’s areas of direct influence.
